‘El Repartidor’ fountain, right in the middle of the square, used to bring water to five different points of the city of L’Hospitalet de Llobregat in Barcelona. The square has always been considered as a meeting point, as it used to gather people from the converging streets as well as those who wanted to pick up water.
The direction of the streets creates an hexagonal pattern in the shape of the water molecule, in which the streets are emphasized and the urban elements are placed. Five new fountains, on this pattern, bring now water to five different points of the square to recover the origin sense of the main monument.
The paving organizes the space thanks to a sophisticated system of modular pieces resolved by three different types of joints.
